Terms of Service
Last updated: October 25, 2026
These terms govern your use of Satoshi Community (“the service”, “we”). Satoshi Community is an independent project, not a company: it has no legal entity behind it. By creating an account you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the service.
The service
An account gives you an address at satoshi.community. Email sent to it is forwarded to your confirmed Nostr key as an encrypted private message, and you can reply over Nostr: your reply leaves as an ordinary email from your address. You can also publish a PGP public key and an avatar.
No email is secure unless it is encrypted end to end. Email travels the internet and reaches us in plain text; your replies are decrypted on our servers and leave as ordinary, unencrypted email. Only the leg between us and you is encrypted. For anything sensitive, ask your correspondent to encrypt it (with PGP, for example).
The service is provided as it is, without any guarantee that it will be available or that a message will be delivered. Message contents are never kept after delivery, so we cannot recover a lost message.
Your account
- Your login is also your public address (login@satoshi.community): it appears on every email you send. Your password is what keeps the account yours; we recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
- You are responsible for what is sent from your account and for keeping your Nostr key safe.
- Logins and addresses are never handed to someone else while in use. When an account is deleted or removed, its login and addresses stay reserved for 365 days, so nobody can receive mail meant for you.
Plans and payments
- Every new account gets a free first month. After that the service is paid in advance, in satoshis, over Lightning or Spark, at the prices shown on your account’s subscription page.
- A new plan starts when your current one ends, so buying early never wastes paid time. You can pay for up to three years ahead.
- Payments are final: there are no refunds, including when you delete your account or it is removed. Remaining paid time is lost.
- Prices may change; a change never affects time already paid for.
- When a plan ends, the service keeps working for 30 more days. Then it is suspended for 60 days: mail to your addresses is refused and you can’t send. If no plan is bought by the end of those 90 days, the account is removed.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- send spam or unsolicited bulk email;
- phish, impersonate another person, organization or brand (including through your display name), or deceive the people you write to;
- send malware, or harass or threaten anyone;
- break the law, or get around the service’s limits (for example by registering accounts in bulk).
We may limit sending, suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules, without a refund. To report abuse, use the channels at the end of this page.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost messages, lost data, or any damage from using or being unable to use the service.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed; using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
